Before you buy a new puppy, there are a few things to ask yourself.
)Why do you want to buy a puppy?
)Who will be the primary caretaker?
)Where will the puppy stay when no one is home? Be specific.
)Is there anyone in the home that will be affected by the care of the puppy such as allergies?
)If you rent, do you have the landlord's permission to have a puppy?
)Do you have a fenced~in yard?
)Whats the size? Type & height of the fence?
)Do you live in the country with acreage?
)How far away is the nearest highway?
)Where will the puppy sleep in the daytime/night time?
)Where will the puppy stay when the family is on vacation?
)Does everyone in the family agree with this purchase?
)Can you afford future vet checks and vaccinations?
These are guestions that need to be discussed and answered by everyone in the home before making the decision to buy. Puppies are not disposable pets. They're precious and have feelings of love, sadness and depression. They need regular exercise, feedings, potty trips outside, vet checks, shots, play time and naps.
If you can answer these guestions and feel great about your decisions, then you're headed in the right direction.
